Described by Sir Elton John as "The world's greatest human jukebox", Four Bills and A Ben are an all star outfit who play a high octane set of classic 60's soul and hits from the same era.Whilst the line up can vary the quality never does! Usually featuring the Epsom based Gillan/Kim Wilde guitarist Steve Byrd, who also composed much of the music for TV's "Bay watch" series, and fronted by former Ringo Starr, Humble Pie and Peter Gabriel vocalist Johnny Warman, Four Bills are truly an all star outfit. The line-up also boasts Redhill based Andy Hamilton on sax who's recording and tour credits include George Michael, Duran Duran and Radiohead. The stellar outfit is completed by Status Quo keyboard player Paul Hirsh, new Queen bass man Stephen Barnacle, and SAS Band drummer Johnny Marter.Aside from their brilliant musianship and stellar line-up, Four Bills are also known for the occasional appearance of high profile names from bands such as Status Quo, Queen and Whitesnake. That said, it's the classic mix of Junior Walker & The Allstars; James Brown, Booker T & The MG's; Sam & Dave, Ike & Tina Turner, and hits by Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Animals and The Kinks that make them the perfect band for a special winter party night."We've always attracted a high percentage of women fans," laughs Johnny Warman. "I'd love to say it's because of the members of the band, but in truth it's down to the fact we play a dance friendly set. And classic music is enduring no matter what era it comes from, and we are happy to play the music we love."Four Bills originally came together to generate funs for a local school, but with a series of high profile gigs for the likes of Elton John and some sell out gigs in the local area, their fame has spread, even if their gigs are far and few between.
