ONE KEW ROAD – formerly 'Station Hotel' home to original Crawdaddy Club• Founded by Giorgio Gomelsky - born in Tiflis, Georgia.• Started out as Jazz Club with Dave Hunt Confederates, who switched music form to be the Dave Hunt Blues Band, featuring Ray Davies on guitar. The Rolling Stones wanted the gig and got their wish when the Dave Hunt band couldn't make it to Richmond because of a blizzard. Stones took their place and became the resident band.• Sun Feb 24, 1963: The Rolling Stones perform their 1st gig at to an audience of just 3• Crawdaddy Club, named after Bo Diddley’s hit song “Doing The Crawdaddy”• Sun April 14 1963: The Beatles come to watch The Rolling Stones after filming for ABC-TV's `Thank Your Lucky Stars' at nearby Teddington Studios. After the show, party at Jagger, Jones and Richards's flat (102 Edith Grove). The Beatles staying until 4am.• Sun April 28, 1963: Andrew Oldham and Eric Easton present themselves to the Rolling Stones at their Crawdaddy Club gig and start discussing management possibilities.• Sun May 5, 1963: Dick Rowe of Decca Records went to see the Stones at the suggestion of George Harrison and signed them immediately.
