The Hendrix Collective was the band selected by Metrojam Productions to perform for the cameras for the 50th Anniversary memorial show to commemorate the day Jimi died. The performance was filmed for TV and broadcast on London Live on the 18th September 2020 to excellent reviews.
The band is fronted by TJ Johnson (Bold as Love), a very well known guitarist from London along with his band who not only bring the vibe of those late 60s days in London, but the music is spot on and possibly the most faithful styles of playing.
TJ was influenced when hearing Jimi Hendrix play from a very early age and has since become a renown guitarist and band leader performing with many artists.
The show will cover many of the Jimi Hendrix classics, from 'All along the Watchtower' to 'Voodoo Chile' and include some of the more obscure yet magical songs like 'Spanish Castle Magic' which many of the purist fans love.
The sound is authentic too, with a guitar strung exactly like a Hendrix 'inverted' white stratocaster through a vintage amp and a full set of effects pedals, the feel of the music takes you back to those psychedelic days of London back in the day, in both sound and style.1 gig
