Two exceptional singer/songwriters on one bill!
Charlie Dore is one of the UK's most respected singer songwriters. Her 2017 album Dark Matter won both Album of the Year and Best Lyrics from the US Indie Acoustic Project, while in 2021 her new album, Like Animals, won her 2021’s FATEA Female Artist of the Year award.
A fantastic performer herself, Charlie's songs, which include a UK No 1, have been recorded by Tina Turner, George Harrison, Celine Dion, Lisa Stansfield, Jimmy Nail, and Sheena Easton. She has composed for three BBC drama series and two films. Her own hit, Pilot of the Airwaves is still a worldwide radio favourite.
Did I mention where, at the age of 16, Charlie played her first ever gig? - Uxbridge Folk Club, at The Load of Hay!
It will be great to welcome her back.
Craig Joiner, more latterly a stalwart of the Folk Club scene, has been a professional musician for over 25 years; including being a session player for Tom Jones. He has written songs that have been recorded by the likes of Heart, Bonnie Tyler, and Steps, and his songs have been used in major Hollywood movies such as ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’, ‘102 Dalmatians’ and ‘Jack Reacher’. He has also had his music played on programmes such as ‘Friends’, ‘Cold Feet’, and ‘Would I Lie To You’.
If you have any interest in songwriting this is an evening you will not want to miss.
