GOING TO MONTROSE are a four-piece band playing tribute to the high energy, loud, in your face hard-rock and riff driven sound of the 70s and 80s.

Playing the complete debut album titled simply MONTROSE and released in 1973, along with some of the very best songs recorded by Montrose, Ronnie and Sammy over the years, the time has to be right to re-experience the adrenalin fuelled, custom car, wrecking-machine sound that set the stage for so many bands to follow.

Montrose original line up consisted of Sammy Hagar on vocals, Ronnie Montrose on guitar, Bill Church on bass and Denny Carmassi on drums and were heralded as America’s answer to Led Zeppelin.

Sadly, Ronnie passed away in 2012 but with a career spanning 5 decades, his name accredited to countless collaborations and scores, it is clear he has left a legacy that anyone who has ever had a passion for rock music will acknowledge and admire, remembering him as one of the Godfathers of Rock.

Sammy Hagar left Montrose in 1975 to pursue a solo career and proved himself to be a formidable song writer producing rock classics such as I don’t need Love and There’s only one way to rock. He joined Van Halen in 1985, experiencing probably his most commercial success, finally leaving in 1997. His voice is as rich and exciting as it was back in ’73 and he continues to record and perform to this very day.
