9 May 2017The Grand Burstin Hotel, FolkestoneWe had a great gig last night on Friday 7th April at The Grand Burstin Hotel in Folkestone. This would have been my second weekender in Folkestone and our first headline slot - but this is now day two since my appendix was removed and i really can't move so again a huge thanks to Kevin Swain for filling in. All comments came back positive and i'm starting to think that my position may be in jeopardy after two cracking gigs with James, Ross and Kevin - no one seemed to worry that i wasn't there :-( It's a real strange feeling as these are the first gigs that i've not played in all the years we have been playing as Vintage. I'm sure normal service will be resumed very soon :-)Thanks to everyone who came along!Hope to see you at our next gig, which is on Saturday 8th April 2017 at Tewkesbury Rock & Roll Club, Tewkesbury - details on Lemonrock at:https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=484980Matt

15 Apr 2016The Grand Burstin Hotel, FolkestoneSo where do we start with this one - we just had the most amazing time playing as part of the line up for Folkestone Jive 8 at The Grand Burstin Hotel in Folkestone - we were given the opportunity to play on the Sunday afternoon slot. We were told not to be too disappointed if not many people turned up and the weather didn't help going from miserable on the Saturday to brilliant sunshine just as we were supposed to be playing. The hall I guess seats around 300 and when we were sound checking a few people had started to turn up so we were sure it wasn't going to be empty :-) Another guess puts the total number somewhere around 100 by the time we were supposed to play which was well beyond our expectations. We were told to hold out until ten past two before kicking off and boy what a difference ten minutes can make...!Before we had finished the first song the hall was all but full, this was a dream come true - we just had no idea we were going to get this sort of reception. We played through to around three and then took a quick break - well a break that included selling CDs and chatting to any number of people. The half hour break was done, a quick drink and back on - our second half is usually a little showier than the first and boy did it get well received. Another forty five minutes past in a flash with a full dance floor and cheers getting louder and louder. We thought we'd finished but little did we know that Mark Keeley was going to get up and thank us personally, your words were very kind. Those words also meant a couple more songs needed to be played :-) Those done and time moving on we thought we were finally done but nobody was having that so we played a little more and then... nope, played a few more... three encores and huge cheers and were finally done :-) We can't thank you all enough for your very warm welcome. Finally, those of you that were there would have seen that we did bring along a small crowd of our own - these guys support us week in week out closer to home and without you all (and others that couldn't make it) we wouldn't be doing so well - we can never thank you all enough for showing us your support - we always feel very humble in your presence.Thank you all again - I hope you've booked again for next year because we've already been booked to come back :-) see you in 2017 :-)Hope to see you at our next gig, which is on Saturday 16th April 2016 at Carshalton Social Club, Carshalton - details on Lemonrock at:http://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=435147Matt
