The J45s [Covers & Original, 4 piece]

We were delighted to welcome back the J45s at our club. Returning after the Lock-down break they gave a truly 'barnstorming' performance of blistering southern rock and british 60's period Rhythm and Blues. Songs ranged from early Faces, Kinks, Animals and Rolling Stones (Dead Flowers), to the Eagles (Hotel California), Delbert McClinton (Roll the Dice), The Band (the Weight), Johnny Cash (Fulsom Prison) and Creedence Clearwater Revival (Proud Mary), plus some contemporary material such as the Felice Bros (Whiskey in my Whiskey) and Gillian Welch (Miss Ohio). Powerful vocals (in the Eric Burton tradition), very impressive bass and drums, solid rhythm guitar and amazing lead guitar ...this is a very fine and tight band playing at the highest level despite a lock-down break. Definitely performances that should not to be missed by fans of this style of music! They will be playing again at the club at the end of July and also at the club's Beer and Music Festival on August BH Sunday.

Had a feeling The J45s were going to be good and they didn't disappoint - great rhythm section , wicked guitarist and and soulful vocals. Hope to see them again very soon.
Chris Brookes, Sunday 8 December 2019Thanks, Chris for the kind words.
We enjoyed The Black Horse. Authentic rock venue with an appreciative audience.
I hope we get invited back!

Being my fourth visit to the popular canal side pub The General Elliot,
this was my first live encounter with The J45s as it was refreshing to hear they had a large varied repertoire.
Rock and roll? They've got it, giving the audience a rip-roaring account of 'Born To Be Wild' as well as a powerful pounding version of Johnny Cash's 'Folsom Prison Blues'.
The highlight for me, however, was their immaculate rendition of The Eagles 'Hotel California'.
Great vocals with impeccable guitar playing! An absolute treat!
The J45s are a band of four top-class musicians who undoubtedly entertain you with classic covers by adding their own flavor and zest.
Congratulations lads on what was a great night!

I dropped in the pub not knowing to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised. Every one in the band was strong. Definitely pros. They don't make them like this any more.
