I'll be playing a relaxed mix of covers and originals, bring your most-uproareous banter for between songs and best taste in acoustic balladry. Rebooked from New Years Day when my car wouldn't go, a terrible story of woe and seized-up disc brakes. So imagine it was New Years eve last night and resume as scheduled! So: Welcome to 2023! Bring your hangover and James will gently ease you into the new year in the congenial company of the RPA, a great real ale and cider pub! As well as having your a prodigious repertoire of classic cover songs under his belt, James is an acclaimed songwriter and multi-instrumentalist performing several times a week up and down the country. His songs are refreshingly inventive and accessible, with Folk-Blues roots of Roy Harper and Tim Buckley et al as well as Prog Rock, by turns tranquil then "soaring with hypnotic groove munching guitar space freak-outs - plus glorious songwriting within" - Wunder Bar.

Really pleased to have been invited back to play at the Siren's Calling, great community pub in an amazing location, craft ales, the lot.
I'll be playing roughly half/half covers/originals I expect, as I recall they like to get up and dance there - and the acoustics ain't bad either :-)

The Barley Mow - "A great little pub!" - and famous for being a live music venue, with a listening audience who've come for the music, where you feel like you're in your front room, in good company and with a well-stocked bar including an eclectic range of real ales. Recommended.

Looking forward to returning again to The Albert, which has become a kind of home-from-home since I began playing there seasonally some ten years ago. Landlord Giles usually expects some live looping and Pink Floyd, but the venue is one of those where I feel relaxed enough to forget the concept of a set-list!
The pub is home to 'Thirteen Moons Ale' named for my album using hops grown at my home in Frome and brewed by George at The Bridgetown Brewery in the pub's cellar. The house ales are worth the visit alone - 'Albert Ale' being my fave if I've already given away all bottles of the Thirteen Moons Ale to purchasers of my linen-cased cd album.
