Thanks for your kind words Colin. Glad you enjoyed your evening. Hope to see you again soon
Being a staunch Rock 'n' Roller and local to The Boot, I made a point of attending the Just For Kicks gig. I was curious to see what sort of reception the band would get from the younger clientele of the pub and also whether they would be up to the standard of bands I see regularly at Rock 'n' Roll venues.
No worries on either score!
The band - all talented musicians in their own right - played a good selection of both well known and lesser known rockin' songs, including Matchbox's (of which the lead singer is a member) classic, "Rockabilly Rebel" and Crazy Cavan's "My Little Sister's got a Motorbike". These were played so well you got the impression that you could request almost anything and this band would be able to play it!
The dance floor was packed with people of all ages (good to see the youngsters enjoying good old rock 'n' roll) and the whole pub was rockin'. For my part, I was pleased to be able to hear the music I enjoy without having to drive 40 miles plus!
Hope Tom has them back soon.
