The Earl Derby, Kilburn15 May 2016The Earl Derby, Kilburn This was my first venture into London for a solo gig (not counting open mic nights). About time...The Earl Derby in Kilburn is a spacious gastro pub in NW London. Decent folk enjoying the music, the pool table, and the lower-than-average prices of drinks. Quite a few Irish punters which was great — great craic at the bar. Thanks to everyone who came along, especially for all of the requests. I've added a Kiss song to my repertoire! To other artists who might gig here: classic rock and blues was the best received. FYI, you can park in the side street for free on the weekend, and there's a large side entrance for loading into the venue. Definitely enough space for a five-piece band.My next gig is back in St. Albans with my acoustic duo Entropy on Wednesday 25th of May at The Mermaid:http://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=459713See you 'round.Cheers,Neil
Firecrackers at YOFC8 Nov 2015Firecrackers at YOFC It's becoming a habit. Epic gigs at Ye Olde Fighting Cocks in St Albans, that is.Mere seconds after the fireworks spectacular finished, I started singing and by the end of the first song ("Firecracker" by Ryan Adams!), the pub had filled up with lovely people looking to party. So, we partied! An hour-long first set was followed up by an epic, dance-filled, two-and-a-half-hour marathon second set. Everyone was having way too much fun for me to stop. Pulled up stumps just shy of midnight. Thanks to everyone for making the night so enjoyable — the excellent dancers, the very tuneful singers, and the fantastic staff.Looking forward to the next one.Cheers!Neil
