New Heroes [Covers, 4 piece]
Bradninch Cricket Club was treated to a wonderful performance by the amazing "New Heroes" last night, and the place rocked right from the start and throughout the performance.
The band's ability and confidence playing a varied repertoire of covers from across the recent decades was something to behold. We were even treated to two variations of "Happy Birthday" for different guests and people who were there to hear them were generally in overall agreement that New Heroes must be one of the best bands they had been seen at the Club or, indeed, anywhere locally.
Phil Smyth, lead singer and guitarist, entertained with conviction and a passion that ran through all the tracks they chose from their wide and varied selection.
The band played a couple of requests, including the current crowd-pleaser "Sex On Fire" by Kings of Leon, but they were adept at pretty much everything they turned their hands to. When the end of the show came, it was met by loud calls for more, which was duly delivered and everyone there agreed these guys were pretty much unparalleled in their league.
If you were not there, you missed one of the best night's entertainment the Club has ever seen. I'm so glad I was there to enjoy it! We spoke about the possibility of a return booking, possibly next year at an outdoor event if we are able to secure everything necessary, so watch out for future listings!

Thank you very much, glad we you had a great time. We had a ball! NH
I've just got home from seeing the New Heroes and I'm still buzzing from the whole experience.
So what made this gig so special?
Firstly this band made sure from the beginning to the end, and every song in between, that the audience were involved. We felt that they not only cared that we were having a good time, but they were also going to make sure that we did. The interaction was fantastic. And we loved it!
Secondly the musicianship was excellent. All four band members are fully competent musicians in their own right - but together they are not only tight, but also sympathetic to each other and the music they play. Not many bands would nail Muse and Jamiroquai covers - and having seen both of those bands live I can honestly say that New Heroes covered the songs with all the energy and brilliance of the original bands. Deeper Underground, to pick out just one of many, was a truly powerful performance.
And last but by no means least - this band play a refreshing assortment of numbers that you just won't hear at other gigs. Spin Doctors, Scissor Sisters, Supergrass, Duran Duran... You just didn't know what was coming next! All of the tracks were exciting, interesting and outstanding.
And that's about it really!
These guys definitely do deliver ultimate enjoyment on every level.
P.S. Can you save the world now please? :-).
