The Old Bell, Oxted [Pub / Restaurant]
FriNov24Groove Hoover (Classic 70s Rock) at The Old Bell, Oxted Groove Hoover began humbly at an open mic night in Surrey, where three like minded musicians got together once a month to informally perform music that they loved. Sharing a common passion for the sounds of 60's and 70's rock bands, for example, Eagles, Thin Lizzy and Creedence Clearwater Revival, it became quickly apparent that there was a market for this genre of music and it was decided that a band would be formed.Adding two more guitars to the existing line up of bass, drums, guitar and vocals meant the band were able to perform the complex vocal and guitar harmonies made famous by the aforementioned bands, creating authenticity very rarely found within function circuits. In order to cater for a modern audience, some up to date song choices where added, and performing music by artists like Foo Fighters, Oasis and Royal Blood whilst mixing with the classic 70's rock sound means that the set is easily accessible by all ages.Groove Hoover's ethos is simple; good music played well. The band strives to play the songs as musically accurately as possible, like the artists would have done if you had seen them yesteryear. Between it's members, Groove Hoover has played many prestigious venues, ranging from the Royal Albert Hall, to the Houses of Parliament, to the Minack Theatre Cornwall and Sunday Night at the London Palladium. Members have and still do tour both nationally and internationally, at venues such as the O2 Islington Academy, Concorde 2 Brighton and Komedia, sharing the stage with the artists that helped shape them .Most importantly, the band loves performing, and hopes that this passion and enthusiasm shines through when they play.Groove HooverAsh, Greg, Pete, Clive and Henry60/70/80/90 rock and pop covers.7pm - 11pm Info »
