Pimp My Jazz [Jazz / Funk, 4 piece]

Made a world of difference to the event - lovely atmosphere created by the music and it drew the crowds. Hope to have you there next year.

Wednesday 8 January 2014Thanks Kate!

A big thank you to all the band members, a terrific gig. By the end of the 2nd set the room was rocking, the members and staff of New Horizons were up and dancing, having a very good time. As they were leaving people were asking when the band coming again, hopefully soon! Great music, great singing, great band. Very good time had by all.

The amazing vocal talents of Lonette Charles are backed by John Spraggon (lead guitar), Gareth Chelley (saxophones), Phil Craddock (keyboards), Terry Peaker (bass) and Kweku Graves (drums) ......... .............. Superstar George Michael approves of Pimp My Jazz. [After hearing the debut album, he] emailed: "I heard the song Loving Love, and I must admit that there is talent in you.... You did a great job!"

Sunday 6 January 2013These comments appeared in a preview feature article to Pimp My Jazz's Santa gig in Yiewsley Piazza on Sat Dec 8, 2012. It was written by Hayes FM presenter Hughie Dixon, who reviews the London Borough of Hillingdon's live band scene in his regular feature for the Uxbridge Gazette.
Partly as a result of the publicity, more than 200 children turned up to meet Santa Claus in his grotto.

Mr F and I popped along to Big Fest last week, where we were particularly taken with local band Pimp My Jazz, who performed in front of the Civic Centre. We need more of this type of high-class stuff in Uxbridge. Singer Lonette Charles' velvety voice and the jazzy original material written by real-life partners guitarist Gavin Sparks and lyricist Kay Shelley were top notch.

The torrential downpour did not dampen the mood of visitors at the Plough Inn Saturday afternoon to hear a talented group of musicians that are 'PIMP MY JAZZ'. Great selection of songs from a variety of artists as well as their own stuff. It will have your fingers snapping and your feet moving... all in the right direction. Great music, Great day!
