14 Nov 2022Power's Bar, KingsburyStrange thing about Power's Bar in Kingsbury, which I've also noticed in a few other venues. We started off with a great response from the audience, including a pleasant and knowledgeable gent sitting at the table nearest to the stage. However, by the middle of the evening it had all gone a bit flat, not helped by one particular shorts-wearing twat with a hipster beard and back-to-front cap who was determined that his voice would be the only thing to be heard in the entire neighbourhood. Talk about empty vessels...Yet as we approached the end of the final set, all of a sudden the by now rather depleted audience rediscovered their enthusiasm and the gig ended most positively. The stage in here is very tiny, but we manage to squeeze onto it, and altogether it's a nice place to play. Seems they're now all booked up to the end of the year but we hope to get some more gigs here in 2023.Our next gig at time of writing is on Saturday 3rd December 2022 at The Bodhrán, Hendon Central (https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=814947) but we're hopeful of securing other bookings in the meanwhile.Tony Young

21 Aug 2022Power's Bar, KingsburyA jolly nice gig at Power's Bar in Kingsbury last night. As usual we managed to squeeze ourselves and our equipment onto the rather small stage, and right from the off we were warmly received, with applause and later some dancing and singing along from the audience and the bar staff too. We had expected to take an extended break during the big boxing match on the TV, but in the event it started bang on our finishing time, so we got to enjoy it while putting the gear away.We look forward to returning here in the future.Meanwhile our next gig is TODAY, Sunday 21st August 2022, at The Bell, Bedmond - details on Lemonrock at https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=808551Tony Young

9 Feb 2022Power's Bar, KingsburyPower's Bar in KingsburyA good gig last Sunday in this small but pleasant pub with its tiny stage. Started off a bit slow, but by the end the place was hopping, thanks largely to a party of young ladies over from Ireland and celebrating something. Bonus: Even managed to get a parking space right outside the door. Happy days! Back here again on Saturday 20th August and looking forward to it.Hope to see you at our next gig, which is on Thursday 17th March 2022 at Erin's Hope, Colindale - details on Lemonrock at: https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=790684Tony Young

8 Dec 2021Power's Bar, KingsburyPower's Bar in KingsburyBack in circulation again after a long layoff due to the Covid lockdown, Cats' Eyes took once more to the tiny stage at Power's Bar and a good time was had by all. On this occasion, bass duties were carried out by the excellent Dean Reilly in the absence of regular bass-player Jim, and his vocals and cheery demeanour were an asset. We look forward to returning here in the future. Our next gig is on Saturday 11th December 2021 at Tony's Bar, Willesden - details on Lemonrock at:https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=784742Tony Young

15 Apr 2018Power's Bar, KingsburyWe were drafted in at short notice last night at Power's Bar in Kingsbury, as Nick Connelly (sp?), who had been booked to play there, was sadly unwell. The venue does have a small stage but, although we just managed to squeeze on by leaving out some equipment, it really isn't a duo gig. Also it was a bit noisy with people shouting at each other across nearby tables. All the same, we were very well-received, played several requests and received a lot of compliments. Lee, the owner, and his bar staff were very kind to us and that was much appreciated. At the end of the day, a gig's a gig and we've done some far worse than this one.Our next engagement is on Saturday 21st April 2018 at Burnham Park Hall, Burnham - details on Lemonrock at: https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=565942Tony Young
