The Queen's Head, Sandridge [Pub]
Well, the Delta Ladies REALLY took the Queen's Head by storm! They engaged the audience all evening (much longer than we'd planned!) with a very varied repertoire and array of instruments. They gave us a wide variety of songs and genres, delivered with dexterity and a good degree of humour.
Vicky showed great versatility on guitar (including slide), ukulele and a rather odd looking fish thing, like a chromatic dulcimer (the only word that nearly rhymes with alzheimer!) which sounded wonderful! Lady Di played a mean boogie piano and showed off a wide range of styles on the violin as well. Between them, they offer a wide vocal range to deliver their set, and this evening was no exception!
Perfect for an early Sunday evening! Highlights of the evening were definitely Hellbound, My Old Man's a Dustman and a heartfelt 'happy birthday' to a (very surprised!) local! Looking forward to seeing you here again soon! Well done, ladies!
