The Ship & Pelican is on the corner of Church Street and Fore Street by the traffic lights. The car park is at the rear, just follow the public car park signs for Gordons Place and keep going! You can enter the Pub from the rear car park via the Beer Garden, where there is a entrance suitable for those with a disability, this can also be reached from Church Street. The front of the Pub can be entered via steps directly from Fore Street and Church Street.Entering from the rear of the Pub there is a Public Bar with large screen TV's, Jukebox, Quiz Machine and Fruit Machines; a side room off this houses the pool table and darts board. The Lounge Bar to the front has another dart board, Cards and other games are available along with a good selection of daily newspapers, and comfortable seating where you can have coffee and a read. Discrete TV's are placed so you can also keep track of news or sports if you wish.Off the Beer Garden is the skittle alley and function room. The skittle alley is available for private use or league teams. The room has its own bar and is fitted with a state of the art projection and surround sound system to a 90inch screen for Sky HD sports and can be used for music/parties/karaoke, the room can seat around 70 with a dance floor or up to 80-100, but is still cosy for fewer people.In all the two bars and function room have six TV screens which are capable of showing up to four channels at once. We regularly show Sky Sports, Cricket, Football, Live Rugby, and more. If it's on we can show it.The Ship & Pelican is a community pub with a lot of regular clientele, and as such we have zero tolerance on drugs and bad behaviour.
