snappa headlined at Woodstoke on Saturday and boy did they give us all a treat. From the opening number 'Ruby' the mood was set for the rest of the night with the audience dancing their feet off as the hits just kept on coming. Fantastic versions of 'My Generation', 'Buck Rogers' and 'White Wedding' and, as is their speciality, the boys played their own cracking version of 'Brown Eyed Girl'. The crowd went positively wild 'whoo hooing' along to Song 2 and there was a really polished encore as the boys played two songs in one for their encore - one country and one western! The snappa boys are ultra professional and a really tight rocking unit with guitar and bass tone to die for topped off with Matty's solid driving rhythm on the tubs. Go and see them soon, they are Top Banana!

Tuesday 20 July 2010Cheers Colin, it was a great night, nutty crowd and two really great bands on the same night as Snappa, The superb Valetones who did a great job warming up a sober audience for local legends The Tree Frogs who filled the dance floor! It was a privilege to be asked to perform for the Woodstoke Festival and help raise money for Cancer Research Uk.

After hearing good things from friends, me and the 'wife to be' went along the the Railway to catch snappa.
What we got was a great mix of classic rock and a great sound from a three piece with a lot of talent.
Snappa know how to please and involve their audience, and cater for specific audiences without compromising their need to rock out! (a Jimmy Hendrix 5 minute guitar solo proved this).
So impressed, we spoke to Mick during the interval and booked the band for our wedding (minus the Hendrix solo, it would have been too much for the grandparents).
The dance floor stayed packed all night and guests in their 60's through to teenagers went away happy.
