I had the privilege of seeing Straight Eight at a charity event I held and they were without doubt an amazing band. They were engaging with the audience and the music and enthusiasm was so infectious it was impossible to stay in your seat, the whole place was up and dancing! The dance floor was packed from beginning to end. A fantastic feel-good evening!

The sound, the energy, the colour & the talent were incredible. The songs played during the set were brilliant & everyone was singing & dancing to every song. The vocals were so soulful, the brass section had a blast & the whole band were ready to party! Such fun! Ended up dripping wet I danced so much.

Wow, what a brilliant gig at Retro Festival! They got everyone moving from start to finish with epic versions of some great songs. They really looked like they were were enjoying themselves on stage too and their enthusiasm was contagious. If you’re looking to go and see a feelgood, uplifting band, check them out. Top entertainment, highly recommended.

We were at the bar outside the Ricky Tick Marquee when we heard Straight Eight start playing - it turns out this was only their soundcheck and their performance was even better!

Everyone was dancing, the whole tent was moving and singing along. There were a lot of them and all in bright colours. Their lead singer was very soulful and the girl singer was awesome! Some brilliant versions of stax classics and also things like Minnie the Moocher. Don't miss these guys!

We were at Retro Festival at Newbury and had gone into the Ricky Tick tent (quite frankly to shelter from the rain). Straight Eight had the crowd dancing in the soundcheck!!

We decided to stay and watch, and what a fantastic show! They are a big band with a four piece brass section and all wearing very brightly coloured suits (zoot suits?). They started off with classic numbers like Sweet Soul Music and Curtis Mayfield's Move On Up and just went from strength to strength and an hour just flew by! Of course they got an encore and put some real crowd pleasers in like Shake A Tailfeather and a brilliant version of Minnie The Moocher!

We will definitely go and see them again - Five stars for performance!!
