That's What SHE Said! [Covers - various, 5 piece]

Back in September we had a festival wedding party with multiple bands, one of which was That's what SHE said!!
The band were fantastic. Claire was so helpful before the big day corresponding with the band members and ourselves with advice for amps, speakers, sound systems etc.
They really made the whole experience stress free and more importantly sounded amazing!
They created a party atmosphere with a good range of covers on the day. We are truly thankful that we could work with them and I hope they had as much fun on the day as we did!
I would recommend them for any function. Professional, polite and easy to work with. Thank you once again TWSS for making our day magical!
Sam & Steph Toms, Thursday 8 December 2022Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review.
We had a great time playing for you and so glad you had an amazing day! Wishing you both a long and happy life together.

There are many bands on the pub/club circuit, most are hard-working, entertaining, and do their best, but very few contain real talent, talent of the top level. This especially applies to singers, the majority could only survive in the noise and confusion of 'live' gigs, certainly not in a recording studio. So it's a joy to see - and hear - a singer with real talent, someone who is capable of going much further than these humble (but noble) beginnings. Claire's intonation was perfect, her delivery, excellent, and her vocal sound has distinction - a silky pleasant sound that is all her own. At times, as with most bands in these situations, she was not quite in the right key for the song - "Brown-eyed Girl" was an example of that, played in G, the key of the record, when she could have done with Bb perhaps? (This happens often in the pubs - Is this because the bands learn the song from the record, and the singers have to deal with that as best they can?). In the case of this band, this was true of a few of the songs, but nothing phased Claire, she was comfortable dealing with whatever she found, her very low notes were cleverly relaxed, therefore still getting the best of her, and on her very high notes, she cunningly slid up to the falsetto, ensuring a safe landing on the top note. I did think she should have edited the lyrics of the male songs, and it would have been nice to see her a bit more smartly dressed as befits a good-looking singer who could = and should - easily go places. There was a good variety of choice of material, and the band's enthusiasm and camaraderie were pluses, though the two guitars sounded best when they split roles, rather than both playing chords at the same time, and the backing harmonies need more work. It was noticeable that some of the numbers were more rehearsed than others, in particular, "Shut up and dance with me" and "I love Rock and Roll" were impressively put together. But at all times, the band indeed offered good support, and a surprisingly sensible balance in the sound, ensuring that the vocal could be clearly heard, as if acknowledging how important Claire is - and she certainly is all of that.
Jack Diamond, Saturday 19 March 2022Thanks so much for your support and encouragement and for taking the time to leave us a review.
We’ll take your comments/suggestions on board to help us polish our performances in the future!

We didn't know if this band would be very good - not having seen them before - but they certainly were. A few songs in, one particular song seemed familiar, and very good, but I couldn't recall who the original artist was. A friend pointed out it was 'Rolling in the Deep' by Adele. I listened to Adele's original this morning and don't like it as much as this cover band's take last night. The one thing I would say would lift this band up to the level of the very best, would be the addition of a keyboard player.
Tuesday 1 January 2019Hi there! Thanks so much for not only taking a chance and coming along to see us, but also taking the time to drop us a line and give us some great feedback. (We'll have a think about that for sure) Thanks again, we really do appreciate it. Hope to see you again! :?)
