What a joy - our first time at Melksham Assembly Hall in Melksham and it was a treat for us. A lovely stage to spread out on and a great venue for acoustics. Setting up had its fun and games as it seemed James' amp had finally given up - it had a mind of its own, whistling and whining without anything being plugged in. We started to look for local music shops that were open to see if we could get another but just in time we got told that the hearing aid loop was active and that played havoc with Peavey amps...! The loop got switched off and we were then into a fun filled evening.

Some great videos (Stray Cat Strut issues accepted :-) ) were taken and added to our FB page - thanks to Linda De Santiz - you are more than welcome to com along again. We have a stills photographer already (Paula Lewis) but haven't got a videographer yet :-)

We did talk about coming back and didn't get shot down in flames so we may just see you all again sometime soon.

How bizarre was this gig...! We played last night, ten miles up the road at a private party for our friend Sue - it was a brilliant night and we all had so much fun - so much so that most of you turned up to the Carshalton Ex Servicemans Club in Carshalton and did it all again - we have such a great following - i wonder if we could do three local ones and get you all along to all three...? :-)

The Ex is such a strange one, a cool place to play, not the biggest club or best layout but always well attended and such nice people. We are so lucky to have this on our doorstep. As usual, a packed dance floor from start to end and very hot - even with the air conditioning running flat out.

For those that did both nights, how do we thank you enough - we have the best followers ever... and you just proved it all over again.

Austin Sports & Social Club, Longbridge

A bit of a nightmare journey in that we got caught up in so much traffic early in the journey it was clear we were going to be late arrivals at the Austin Sports & Social Club in Longbridge - but we called ahead and suggested we would be there in enough time to sound check, so no harm done. We finally arrived and got a great reception as always from Kevin, Paul and Big Col. We always feel so welcome - and we have to say thank you for that.

We set up, sound checked and got ready for a another great evening of enthusiastic dancers from start to finish.

We are fairly critical of what we do and so can only apologise for what we thought was a sub standard sound. It was the first time up with the black bass and we think it threw the rest of the sound out - not quite up to what we would consider our best. That said, it didn't seem to stop you all from having a good time and the request for more at the end was phenomenal so it clearly was better than we had thought - we are so pleased it seemed to go so well.

Stapleton & Begbrook Community Association, Stapleton

A new venue - the Stapleton & Begbrook Community Association in Stapleton known to us as the Begbrook Rock and Roll Club - i hope that's ok with everyone :-) We were on'y in Bristol a couple of weeks back and so didn't know how this was going to pan out but we shouldn't have worried - it seems you quite like us over this way :-) and we love coming over. So much so that we are back here at the end of the month for an All Dayer at the BAWA.

Hopefully we will see you all again then - do come over and say hello, we love a chat :-)
