Hersham Sports & Social Club in Walton-on-Thames and Valentines night seems to equal Vintage and an amazing crowd...! And yet again this year didn't disappoint :-) the place was packed and we got to celebrate Abby's birthday at the same time :-)

We have so much fun at this venue, it is always one we look forward to playing and are never disappointed with the effort put in by Val and Gary, they make this very special place to play and we are so appreciative of the fact that they ask us so often. We are here a few more times this year so keep checking the website for you next installment of music, fun and dancing...

We went out for the first time as a two piece - James and I went over to a care home in Radlett, Hertfordshire to play for an hour at an afternoon gig for Vicky and her team who put on an amazing afternoon of quizzing and music. It was amazing to see just how much people can bring to the front of their minds when the right atmosphere is created and the minds are stimulated by music from a bygone age. I have to say that we were amazed at the care and compassion shown and can only hope that we did our little bit to make the afternoon a fun one.

We want to go back :-) We won't bring the bass ;-) and we will put on a show like no other we do, just for you...

James is back :-)

We never fail to have fun at one of the local venues we play - the one simply known as 'The Ex' - it's the Carshalton Ex Servicemans Club in Carshalton - and this visit didn't disappoint :-) A relatively quiet start to the evening - trying to wind everyone down and get people ready for an early night in preparation for work on Monday. Well that was the plan ;-) it was never going to be the case though - the place was rocking from start to finish. It just got louder and faster as the bight went on. We overran again, ooops, sorry but it's not our fault - you have to get people to stop asking for more.

Alakazam R'n'R Club, Leighton Buzzard

So we are back at Alakazam R'n'R Club in Leighton Buzzard, those of you that know us will understand that Alakazam and Vintage have history. We haven't yet played there without incident, some of them fairly major (wheel coming off the trailer on the way up springs to mind :-) anyway what will it be tonight...? Well, no James :-( Still waiting for Connor to make an appearance and Leighton Buzzard being a gig too far to risk not being around :-) Step up to the guitar Paul Boyer - a different style, a different dynamic and only a day and a half to learn the set list. We knew about last week so had some plans, this week we expected James so didn't (until the very last minute...!) Paul stepped up and did us a huge favour, the gig was all but cancelled until he said yes, so the show did go on...!

It probably wasn't the most polished of performances with some of the endings dropping off suddenly but the dance floor was full all night and so I think we did alright. We had enough positive (and no negative) comments to suggest the dancers enjoyed themselves and we are really hoping that (if we get asked back) the next one will be with the real band and with no hassle - who knows...?
