Souljacker [Rock] Track: Eat My Dust
Lemonrock review 8 May 08: "If we said the words "tuneful", "controlled", "passionate", "involving" and "exemplary", you might think we're talking about some pristine classical symphony, or perhaps we've gone slightly mad in the heat. But no... with the most incredible set of prog/heavy sounds in a massive driving rock meltdown of a song, Souljacker prove that you don't have to be 300 years old to write music worthy of poetic praise. Make sure you are heavily weighted down before listening... otherwise it is reasonable to predict this will blow you into the next town. Brilliant." Tinlin [Acoustic / Experimental / Folk / Rock] Track: Being Bad
Lemonrock review 2 May 08: "A young band that shows huge promise. Highly distinctive vocals that carry a trademark harmony style. This is passionately played acoustic pop - with unexpected turns of style - that's fun to listen to.
Taken from the Toerag sessions E.P, this track was recorded totally live with no overdubs. Go see Tinlin live if you can!" Get the Flash Player (and enable JavaScript) to listen to this MP3.
Nicky Swann [Acoustic] Track: In Too Deep (demo)
Lemonrock review 24 Apr 08: "Chocolate, anyone? Gentle but emotive guitar ballad from Devon's finest singer/songwriter, Nicky Swann. Effortless playing and sun-ripened, sweetly simmering vocals blending together into a lilting, slightly mesmerising, 75% cocoa solids melody. Dark, smooth and slightly bitter, addictive and likely to keep you awake for some time, without the headache. Yes, we want *more*..." Vivid Sky [Rock] Track: The Unknown
Lemonrock review 16 Apr 08: "Bursting with new energy, The Newcomers have a sound that crosses many boundaries: heavy rock, ethereal indie goth, and harmony peppered pop. This original track is arranged with care; density and sparseness provide an always engaging "progressive" experience. There are moments when you think you are listening to Evanescence or All About Eve; moments that make you glad you are listening to a young UK band who are writing their own material. Give this a couple of listens at least - it deserves it." Get the Flash Player (and enable JavaScript) to listen to this MP3.
Solastar [Indie Pop/Rock] Track: Into The Night
Lemonrock review 11 Apr 08: "A promising sound from a fresh sounding, upbeat indie rock band. This particular track is nicely laid back, with a moderately paced groove, the players all working together to create an organised, melodic acoustic-biased soundscape without getting in each others' way. Reminiscent, but not obviously plagiaristic, of Chili Peppers, U2, early Dire Straits, Coldplay and a hint of REM. Relaxing rock lives!" the quails [Glam Rock] Track: I Like The Sound
Lemonrock review 4 Apr 08: "Killers meets Kasabian meets Supergrass in a thrashingly good melodic whirlpool of guitar-laden rock with generous vocal harmonies that edge this song a large head or two above your average indie rock offering. Well engineered and recorded, this track is a massive showpiece for the band. We Like The Sound of I Like The Sound... very much." Get the Flash Player (and enable JavaScript) to listen to this MP3.
The Cantells [Acoustic Country Folk Roots] Track: Age Of Reason
Lemonrock review 26 Mar 08: "From the opening bar of this track, you know you're in for a treat. Lively - and live-sounding - acoustic, slide and resonator guitars mix well with carefree vocals (remember Terry Dactyl & The Dinosaurs?), happy slapping bass, fun drums and a fascinating percussion section. Say hello to Spring!" Get the Flash Player (and enable JavaScript) to listen to this MP3.
 SammyJo [Rock] Track: Say Farewell
Lemonrock review 14 Mar 08: "One of the best original recordings we've ever heard at Lemonrock. A solid rock song, with a superb studio sound. Vocally, SammyJo reminds us (perhaps obviously) of Avril Lavigne crossed with Anastasia - a truly memorable voice capable of great control, and shades of expression. Call us old fashioned, but you just can't beat a belting rock song with verses, choruses and blinding guitar solos, and, oh yes, a brilliant tune. Top stuff."
